Canal Pollution

After having spent some time by the canals it became apparent that pollution within them and the surrounding areas was a growing issue.

Charlotte aims to bring awareness to the growing problem of chemical pollution and rubbish in and around the canals and the adverse effect that human interference and carelessness has on the environment, hopefully inspiring change.

All images have been submerged in canal water and all rubbish has been taken from canals. One rose is in canal water (known to kill flowers within a day) and the other is in regular tap water.

This project was exhibited at DigBrew in January 2019, aiming to raise awareness of the toxicity of polluted canal water in a way that is visible and easy to understand.
